Your policy premium might increase depending on your history. It may also increase just for making a claim, even if it is denied.

Like any contract Insurance Policies can be extremely difficult to understand. It encompasses a wide variety of issues that are claimable. For the unexperienced navigating this can be daunting.

At a minimal cost, ICG will review your policy, dissect the issues relevant to your Claim explanation, and provide an advisory report that addresses your concerns.

  1. Be clear of the facts of what happened!
    1. Date of Loss
    2. Cause of Loss
    3. People involved
  2. Document your loss extensively!
    1. Photos of origin of damage
    2. Photos of damaged items
    3. Documentation of who, when, and what is being discussed about the claim
How a claim is presented is important.  Statements made in a very innocent manner might be taken as a reason to deny a claim.  Additionally larger more costly claims become more time-consuming and difficult to control.  ICG will review a very simple submittal report, completed by you, look at your photos and give you a free course of action suggestion.

Every Insurance Company is different. What I can attest to is that every Insurance Company documents everything throughout your policy relationship.

As important of a question this is, Insurance is an important necessity! Additionally, if your home or building is mortgaged it’s a requirement. Your concern, if you need the Insurance to help, should not be a rate increase.

ICG’s first assessment of your Claim Submittal is free. If you go into it blindly, you’ll never know if the claim is worth filing or not.

This is a difficult question to answer. Insurance Companies over the past 30 years have tailored their process that includes several levels or review starting from the field adjuster to Management. Large loss claims can take anywhere from 6 months to over a year. Smaller claims up to 3 or 4 months in many cases.

Being prepared and having the answers to questions can be the difference of months. ICG is well versed in knowing what to expect.

Anywhere from properly denied, to improperly denied, to paid properly, to underpaid, to delayed.

It’s important to understand that the Insurance Company, when considering a claim, acquires information for their assessment. The burden to prove your loss falls on you! They send their adjuster not your adjuster. The information you gather to prove your claim requires you to conduct yourself carefully. ICG will thoroughly assess your situation and tailor a course of action that will better prepare you to successfully move your claim forward and as swiftly as possible.

At no cost to you ICG has a Vendor program that will assist in any needs that may arise during and for your insurance Claim.

Many times, an Insurance Company will ask for 3 contractor estimates. In 30 years, I’ve never seen a policy that requires this.

Insurance Companies use software specifically designed for this industry. It is important to be on the same playing field with them.

ICG has a Vendor program that can refer you to a contractor that is proficient in the same software and knows the guideline to properly write an estimate on your behalf.

Mortgage Companies have a financial interest in the condition of your home. Especially after an insurance claim. Your mortgage contract has a requirement that allows them as a named payee for any insurance settlement.

Yet another hurdle in the claim process. And another difficult navigation. ICG can refer an expert to assist in preparing the documentation to get the flow of funds moving to repair your damages.

In most states yes. They are called “Public Adjusters”. Their licensing threshold is higher than an Insurance Company Adjuster. Public Adjusters only serve the public. There are State Bonding requirements as well as required continuing education hours.

ICG is a licensed Public Adjusting Firm in the State of Florida. Our license is also reciprocal in most other states in the country. Knowing when or if a Public Adjuster is necessary doesn’t have to be tricky. ICG has devised a process to give you the knowledge to empower you to know what is right for you.
